Helmholtz Open Science Forum “Scholar-Led Publishing at Helmholtz”
April 13, 2023, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
Background and framework
On April 13, 2023, the Helmholtz Open Science Office, together with the Task Group Open-Access-Transformation, a joint task group of the Helmholtz Association's Working Groups Open Science and Library and Information Management, hosted the Helmholtz Open Science Forum "Scholar-led-Publishing at Helmholtz".
Diamond Open Access and Scholar-Led Publishing are current buzzwords; the focus in this context lies on locating scientific publication opportunities more strongly in the scientific environment beyond profit-oriented platforms. During the forum, presentations and discussions explored this path towards the open access transformation: including insights into different operating models for Diamond OA journals that are already actively pursued in the natural sciences. In addition, the EU Commission's perspectives on the further development of the publication platform Open Research Europe were be presented.
