The winning projects of the second Helmholtz Software Award were honored on November 24 during the Helmholtz Incubator Workshop. This year's competition attracted 35 submissions from 17 Helmholtz Centers via the Helmholtz Software Directory. A jury of 14 international experts carefully reviewed all entries and evaluated their scientific quality and technical innovation.

Following these evaluations, a committee consisting of representatives from HIFIS, HIDA, and the Helmholtz Open Science Office selected the winners in three categories. The high standard of the submissions made the decision anything but easy, as many projects impressed with their originality and impact.

The winners are:

  1. Scientific Originality Prize (Main Award, 5,000 EUR):
CP2K (Quantum Chemistry and Solid State Physics)
