The Helmholtz Open Science Office at the Open-Access-Tage 2024
The Helmholtz Open Science Office will again be present this year with various contributions at the Open-Access-Tage 2024 from September 10 to 12, 2024 in Cologne.
The Open-Access-Tage 2024 will take place this year under the motto “DEAL, Diamond and beyond - Open Access between sovereignty and dependence” from September 10 to 12, 2024 at TH Köln. The Helmholtz Open Science Office is again present this year with various contributions.
In Session 4 on “Science and Communication” on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 15:30 to 17:00, Lea Maria Ferguson will highlight "Wissenschaftsgeleitetes Publizieren - Perspektiven für Forschungseinrichtungen" ” in her presentation. Based on a corresponding discussion paper, she will show that publication infrastructures supported and managed by the scientific community itself offer a promising approach to regaining sovereignty. She will also provide an insight into a memorandum on the Open Access Transformation at the Helmholtz Association.
In addition, on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 11:00 to 13:00, various third-party funded projects of the Helmholtz Open Science Office will be present as part of the poster session. In the contribution "Informationsbudget: Navigation auf den Wegen zur Open-Access-Transformation”, open-access.network (BMBF) and Transform2Open (DFG) will jointly present various paths to the information budget. PID Network Deutschand (DFG) demonstrates with its contribution “Persistente Identifikatoren für offene und FAIRe Wissenschaft” how the use of PIDs for different entities contributes to the fulfillment of the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).
Furthermore, OA Datenpraxis (DFG) together with its partners invites to the workshop "Stand und Perspektive des Open-Access-Reportings".
The Helmholtz Open Science Office is also pleased that Marcel Meistring has been invited to moderate the keynote “Imagining the future of scholarly communication: EU policies and activities and the case of Open Research Europe” by Victoria Tsoukala (European Commission) on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 14:00 to 15:00.
