CoARA and Responsible Research Evaluation

Impulses for a Future-Oriented Understanding of Excellence

Oktober 07, 2026 | 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

Background

The CoARA German National Chapter invites all interested parties: As part of the event “CoARA and Responsible Research Evaluation: Impulses for a Future-Oriented Understanding of Excellence,” we will explore how research performance can be assessed in a transparent, fair, and responsible manner beyond traditional criteria of excellence (please note: the event takes place in German):

  • Where do tensions arise between established criteria of excellence and the goals of the CoARA reform initiative?
  • How can a revised understanding of excellence be integrated into existing evaluation practices?
  • What opportunities and challenges arise for German academic organizations from active participation in reform initiatives?
