Publication on „Lessons learned from ORCID DE“ available

A comprehensive article on the conclusions and results of the ORCID DE project is now available in English.

Under the title "Lessons learned from ORCID DE—A project-driven initiative to promote author identification in Germany", a comprehensive article on conclusions and results from the ORCID DE project has been published in English in Learned Publishing.

ORCID DE was a project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) from 2016 to 2022, which aimed to establish the ORCID iD in Germany. The project consortium at that time comprised the same institutions as in the current "PID Network Germany" project, consisting of DataCite, the German National Library (DNB), the Helmholtz Open Science Office, the Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology University Library (TIB) and Bielefeld University Library.

Through their involvement in the ORCID DE project, the project partners of PID Network Germany have gained extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the identification of scientific results and the communication of this knowledge in a national and international context. PID Network Germany incorporate the community-building, knowledge transfer and technical optimization measures successfully established within the ORCID DE project and takes them to a new level.

The publication is now available in Open Access here:
